28/04/2026It is an artistic activity to “weave memories” and share them with the younger generations
“Art to remember”. This is the title of the workshop organized by the Department of Social Services of Finestrat for people over 65 years of age. The initiative seeks to help them weave their memories, reinforcing memory and also psychomotor skills.
The Councilor for Social Services and the Elderly, Mª Teresa Pérez, encouraged the elderly to participate in this activity “in which we are going to weave memories in a very special artistic way. Through art we are going to recover memories of their childhood such as the school stage, popular games, values, recipes of yesteryear, customs, hobbies, festivals… We will capture it in various artistic ways, in painting, photography, sewing… Therefore, it is a workshop to remember, to tell, to share… because in the end, with all the artistic interventions, they will create a collective collage of large dimensions that they will be able to show and share with the younger generations, even with schoolchildren”.
There will be 2 workshops:
- May 8, 15 and 22 at the Social Center of La Cala.
- 4, 12, 19 and 26 June,
in the historic centre (Llar del Pencionista).
Information and Registration: Reception of the Finestrat City Council and Cala Social Centre.
Registration is free with the support of the Alicante Provincial Council. PRESS OFFICE (27/04/2026)
