Pre-emergency 3 activated for EXTREME RISK of forest fires: July 15 and 16
15/07/2026Work together for fire prevention and the preservation of the marine coastline. These are some of the objectives pursued with the renewal of the collaboration agreement between the City Council of Finestrat and the Benidorm Fire Club. The Mayor, Nati Algado, and the President of the entity, Sergio Sánchez, signed this agreement through which the consistory will partially finance various actions aimed at keeping the seabed of La Cala de Finestrat clean and free of waste, as well as various slopes and ravines in the municipality to avoid fire risks. At the time of the signing, the mayor of the Environment, Estela Álvarez, was also present.

“Security does not start when we have an emergency. It starts much earlier, with prevention and the collaboration of those who protect us day by day. Today we renew the agreement with the Benidorm Fire Club. Today, therefore, we reinforce our commitment to safety, protection and conservation of our natural environment, both marine and mountain, as well as public awareness to, together, prevent fire risks such as those caused by the accumulation of waste,” said the Mayor, Nati Algado, at the end of the signing.
Through this agreement, the City Council of Finestrat undertakes to make an economic contribution amounting to € 2,000. The subsidy will be specifically used to carry out actions to clean and remove waste from the seabed of Cala de Finestrat, cleaning and removal of waste from slopes and ravines in the municipality, as well as its subsequent classification, management and transport, as well as activities to raise awareness and environmental sensitization of the population linked to these actions.
The mayor thanked the Benidorm Firefighters Club for its commitment to Finestrat “not only in these actions, but throughout the year. Working together, hand in hand, makes Finestrat a safer municipality,” concluded the Mayor, Nati Algado.
