We celebrate the New October with a tribute to Mestre José Vicente Algado, Escut d’Or of Finestrat
09/10/2026The mobile ITV will be on Thursday, October 29 at the Plaça de la Unió European in Finestrat
13/10/2026The company caraBdanza presents in Finestrat a proposal for all audiences that combines classical and contemporary dance, audiovisual projections and a reflection on social prejudices towards victims.
Finestrat hosts this Saturday, October 17, the dance show Carmencita and the Wolf , a proposal by the caraBdanza company that offers a renewed vision of the Little Red Riding Hood story through the music of Carmen , in the version of the suite by Rodion Shchedrin based on the famous opera by Georges Bizet.
The performance transports the story to a small 19th-century Spanish village, in a production that combines dance, music, and audiovisual technology to create a vibrant stage where projections and video mapping interact with the dancers. It’s a show designed for all audiences, connecting the tradition of folk tales with contemporary stagecraft.
Beyond the narration of a story for the whole family, Carmencita and the Wolf delves into the story and emotional dimension of Carmen and Little Red Riding Hood, two protagonists who find common ground in a reflection on the social judgment to which victims are sometimes subjected, even being considered guilty or deserving of the problems they suffer.
The choreography is by Gonzalo Díaz, a dancer and choreographer with extensive national and international experience and director of caraBdanza, a company founded in 2013. His work combines ballet and contemporary dance with a constant search for technical and aesthetic quality, bringing dance closer to diverse audiences.
Throughout its history, caraBdanza has presented its productions on national and international stages and festivals, and has received recognition in choreographic competitions. Among its most notable works are The Nutcracker , Alice in Wonderland , and Four Seasons , some of whose productions have been nominated for the Max Awards.
Lasting approximately 60 minutes, Carmencita and the Wolf invites the public to enjoy dance from a different perspective, in a stage experience that unites music, movement and reflection.
