29/03/2026Everything is ready in Finestrat to welcome the arrival of tourists who have chosen this town as a destination for their Easter holidays. After a San José long weekend, with an occupancy close to 90%, the forecasts for the next few days is to exceed 95% occupancy. 
The mayor, Nati Algado, advanced that in recent weeks the City Council has deployed a special device to fine-tune the town and especially the most visited places such as La Cala, the surroundings of the Font del Molí and the traditional historic center. In addition, he advanced news such as the availability to neighbors and visitors of the Bicycle-Pedestrian Road between La Cala and the Boulevard. There he was together with the Councilor for Works and Projects, Guillermo Lloret.
“Eve of the Easter holidays. I invite you to discover Finestrat because it will not leave you indifferent. Our historic centre welcomes you with our fanalets hand-woven by the women of Finestrat and which fill Carrer Fonteta and Carrer Nou with colour. They are also festivals with religious feelings. I invite you to experience the liturgical acts such as the Good Friday procession through the narrow streets that lead to our Hermitage. Finestrat shines at night with the intelligent ornamental lighting of La Penya and that changes scene to create a unique image. Of course, our Cove, set up for you to enjoy our charming beach. And, as a novelty, we invite you to walk along the Greenway that connects La Cala and the Commercial Boulevard. One more example of our commitment to sustainable mobility as they will be able to go on foot or by bicycle from the coastal area to large shopping malls, another attraction of Finestrat’s tourist offer,” said Finestratto Mayor.
This cycle and pedestrian path connects with the bike lane that arrives from Benidorm and reaches the TRAM stop in the commercial area (Carrer Alacant). In addition, it has included as improvements the asphalting, horizontal signage and the bike lane of the section of Avenida Finestrat, between the border with Benidorm and the Leroy Merlin-Müller shopping park.
The City Council of Finestrat has completed the execution of the “EXECUTION WORKS OF GREENWAY TO IMPROVE SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY BETWEEN THE COVE AND THE COMMERCIAL BOULEVARD”. For the execution of the works, the City Council of Finestrat was granted a subsidy in the amount of € 474,311 by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda within the “Call for subsidies of the Spanish Railways Foundation F.S.P. in favor of municipalities for the promotion of the use of bicycles through investment in cycling infrastructure”

In La Cala they have set up Lavapiés facilities, benches and have renewed the structure and awnings of the playground of the arena, for better use and enjoyment of the children. The lifeguard service is also activated this Easter from this Saturday, March 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
This service for a safe beach will be maintained every weekend until June 1 at the same time. From that date on, the summer season begins with lifeguards every day, from Monday to Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
It should be remembered that La Cala has free Wi-Fi on the beach and the promenade; and with USB chargers in the banks, as well as a Cala Tourist Office with attention to the public from Monday to Saturday, uninterrupted from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Sundays, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
In addition, Cala de Finestrat is a smoke-free beach, a sanitary measure adopted by the City Council to preserve the health of visitors and also the environmental care of the sand. This measure will be remembered by activating the public address system on the beach. Supervising all this fine-tuning prior to Easter was the mayor, Nati Algado, together with the Councilor for Beach, Estela Álvarez and the mayor of Maintenance, Tomás Sellés.

Finestrat also lives with devotion the liturgical acts of Holy Week from devotion, such as the Good Friday procession or the Encounter on Easter Sunday (April 5).
On the other hand, the Ethnological and Archaeological Museum is also presented as a cultural proposal with its doors open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and on Sundays and holidays, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. It should be remembered that the Museum is located in a privileged enclave such as the Parc Alcalde Miguel Llorca, a botanical garden with walkways and wooden bridges, as well as a stream.

Other events of a recreational or sporting nature are the VolaBola Volleyball Cup on April 3 and 4 with more than 900 athletes from all over Spain in the sports area of La Foia.
On Monday, April 6, hundreds of residents and visitors gather at the Font del Molí to enjoy a day of fun and gastronomic coexistence at the foot of Puig Campana. It is the traditional festivity of L’Ereta, declared of Local Tourist Interest, by the Department of Festivities and the Commission of Festes La Xirimbela.
