Everything is ready to live and enjoy Easter in Finestrat with novelties such as the Cala-Bulevar Greenway
27/03/2026The Puig Campana Vertical Kilometer once again places Finestrat at the epicenter of Valencian trail running this Sunday, March 29, in an edition that also hosts the FEMECV Vertical Kilometer Regional Championship. An event marked in red on the calendar that will bring together some of the best specialists in the discipline on a route as demanding as it is iconic.
From the Department of Sports, Beatriz Quintillán, said that “this Sunday we return with strength, with one of the most emblematic races on the mountain calendar: the Puig Campana Vertical Kilometer, a pioneering and more than consolidated test among all people who are fond of running in the mountains of our Community. And the figures support it with nearly 200 runners, which represents an increase of 25% compared to the previous edition, confirming the growing interest in this race format that puts each participant to the limit from the starting line”.
Among the confirmed riders are names such as Emili Sellés, Fabio Ruga or Ignasi Cardona, regulars in the front positions and with experience in this type of vertical efforts. For her part, in the women’s category, all eyes will be on Hanan Et Tabaa, current regional champion of Vertical Kilometer, who will defend her title in a terrain she knows well.
The route, with a neutralized start from the Plaça de la Unió Europea de Finestrat to the Font del Molí, will give way to the timed section: 3.6 kilometers of direct ascent to the summit of Puig Campana, accumulating more than 1,000 meters of positive elevation gain. A real wall that will demand the maximum from the riders and that will decide both the general classification and the new regional champions.
The organization highlights the sustained growth of the event and the attraction of hosting the regional championship: “It is a pride to see how the Puig Campana Finestrat Vertical Kilometer continues to grow year after year. This increase in participation shows that the format is liked and that there is something special about the route. In addition, hosting the FEMECV Regional Championship raises the competitive level and allows us to bring together some of the best riders in the Valencian Community”. “We know that it is a tough test, but with a great attraction: reaching the top of Puig Campana. Here each runner faces the mountain without artifice. That is what makes it so attractive,” said Romualdo Domenech, race director.
This Sunday 29th, Finestrat will once again vibrate with a mountain day in its purest form, where every step towards the top counts. (PRESS OFFICE.27.3.2026)
