Finestrat is counting down the hours until this Saturday, September 19th, for the 7th Faldes del Puig Campana Night Trail , a sporting event that has established itself as one of the most popular ways to say goodbye to summer while enjoying the mountains in a unique setting. This year’s race comes with particularly good news: more than 470 people have registered to participate, making this edition the one with the highest participation in the race’s history .
The event, organized by CE El Portell and the Sports Department of the Finestrat City Council, will begin at 7:30 p.m. from Plaça de la Unió Europea and will offer three ways to participate:
- Night Trail: 16 kilometers and 900 meters of positive elevation gain. 258 registered participants.
- Sprint Trail: 9 kilometers and 600 meters of positive elevation gain, in a non-competitive format. 119 registered participants.
- Hiking: 9 kilometers and 600 meters of positive elevation gain, also in non-competitive mode. 97 registered participants.
One of the great attractions of this race is precisely to explore the slopes of the emblematic Puig Campana at night , an experience that combines sport, nature and mountains in a privileged setting and with more pleasant temperatures.
The route, also known as “Volta al Puig Campana”, will allow participants to enjoy some of the most emblematic locations in the Finestrat mountain.
The Trail route will pass through Font del Molí, Mas de l’Oficial, Collado Pouet, Foia de Cac and Cova del Cremat , among other points along the route.
For their part, the Hiking and Sprint Trail modalities, with a route of 9 kilometers and 600 meters of positive elevation gain, will cross places such as l’Alqueria, the Corral de Suay, the Cova del Roget and the Foia de Cac .
In addition, participants will have access to refreshments both during the race and at the finish line , and everyone will receive a medal as a memento of this edition.
Record participation
The Department of Sports has expressed its satisfaction with the extraordinary response from participants , as this seventh edition has exceeded 470 registered participants for the first time.
This record confirms the growth of an event that, year after year, is gaining popularity among those who enjoy sports and the mountains, and has become a key event on the Finestrat sports calendar to say goodbye to summer.

This demonstrates that more and more people want to enjoy our natural environment by doing sport and, moreover, in such a special way as hiking up Puig Campana at nightfall.”
An experience for running, walking and enjoying the mountains
The Night Trail is open to everyone, both members and non-members of running federations , making it an opportunity to enjoy Puig Campana from different levels and in various styles. Minors must be accompanied by an adult or present the corresponding parental authorization.
The Department of Sports invites residents, families, and visitors to come to Finestrat this Saturday and enjoy the sporting atmosphere surrounding the event.
