28/09/2026Agenda for ordinary plenary session: Wednesday 30, 12:00h.
30/09/2026This is the first time Finestrat has obtained this Public Employment Program with a grant of €75,450 from the Valencian Government
The Finestrat Town Council will hire five unemployed people for six months to carry out maintenance and conservation work in the municipality’s forest and rural areas, especially tasks related to forest fire prevention. This hiring will be possible thanks to a grant of €75,450 awarded by the Valencian Regional Government, through LABORA, as part of the EMERGE 2026 program.
The Mayor and head of the Employment department, Nati Algado, visited some of the areas of operation alongside the Councilor for the Environment, Estela Álvarez and the Environment technician, Felipe Martínez. From there, he emphasized that “Finestrat has secured this EMERGE employment program for the first time, which will allow us to hire five unemployed people to work in fire prevention and environmental protection. This grant of over €75,000 will enable us to employ these five people for six months. Therefore, it is a key initiative in fire prevention and also a key initiative in employment, as it creates new job opportunities for unemployed people.”
The brigade will consist of 5 forestry workers, who will be hired for 6 months to work on clearing and cleaning vegetation, maintaining roads and paths and removing plant debris in rural environments and also urban-forest interface areas around urbanizations.

Finestrat will continue to take advantage of collaborative opportunities with other administrations that allow us to create jobs and improve our services and public spaces.”
