13/05/2026Finestrat announces the beginning of an important campaign to promote the town as a destination where “You have it all”. And they will do so with the celebration of various workshops in destinations in the interior of the Valencian Community, as well as regions in central Spain.
“Today we celebrate World Tourism Day,” saidMayor Juanfran Pérez Llorca. “Ideal date to thank restaurateurs and hoteliers because their work and effort have made it possible for Finestrat to reposition itself as one of the destinations in the Valencian Community with the most overnight stays and the most visits in this summer season. And we are going to thank them with the start of a new tourism promotion campaign in the interior of the Valencian Community to try to attract more tourists, and also in autonomous communities in the interior of Spain.” “This promotion is the best way to break seasonality,” added the mayor, “and also to thank the professionals of the tourism sector that Finestrat is one of the most chosen towns as a holiday destination.”
These campaigns will go ahead with the support of Turisme Comunitat Valenciana through a grant obtained by the City Council. The promotion will revolve around the message “Mediterranean attitude” and the potential of Finestrat as a destination where tourists and visitors “have it all”: La Cala beach, the shopping boulevard, mountain tourism, leisure, gastronomy, sports tourism such as hiking, trail, cycling, golf… “And we want to put the focus in a special way on our historic center, especially unique and singular. That is going to be one of the main objectives in tourism for the coming years. And where we are making a very special intervention with European Next Generation EU funds to make it more accessible and more innovative”.
In fact, at the moment the elevator to the Castell is already being executed to facilitate accessibility to the highest part of the historic center. Work is also underway on the ring that will go around the historic centre facilitating pedestrian and cyclist traffic under La Penya, as well as intelligent ornamental lighting with LED technology at key points such as La Penya, works financed with European Next Generation EU funds.
