Finestrat turns to its young people with a Youth Week full of sport, well-being, solidarity and fun

The City Council of Finestrat has incorporated a new aluminum escalator with a work platform in the municipal cemetery with the aim of facilitating access to the niches located in the highest areas and improving safety conditions for users.
As reported by the cemetery councilor, Salvador Martínez, “this new equipment allows the usual cleaning, maintenance and placement of flowers to be carried out more comfortably, offering a more stable and safer alternative to conventional stairs”.
The staircase has a tower-type structure and a 60-degree inclination, characteristics that provide great stability during use. In addition, it incorporates a large work platform protected with two safety railings, six wide non-slip steps and an automatic braking system that locks the wheels when in use.
To facilitate its movement through the different streets of the cemetery, it has four wheels, two fixed and two swiveling, although its design prevents any movement while a person is on it, thus reinforcing safety during tasks at height.
Among the established measures of use is the obligation to use it individually, respect a maximum load of 150 kilograms and always activate the locking system before accessing the platform. It is also recommended to check the condition of the ladder beforehand and place it on firm, dry surfaces free of obstacles.
The new staircase has involved a municipal investment of 1,094.17 euros and allows it to reach an approximate height of three meters, facilitating access to the upper niches with greater guarantees of stability and protection.
With this incorporation, the City Council continues to improve municipal services and facilities, meeting the needs of residents and betting on equipment that increases safety and comfort in public spaces. (PRESS OFFICE.29.7.2026)
