The Church and the City Council will also be illuminated on special dates with this action of Next Generation EU European Funds
The lighting will be dynamic and colourful from Friday to Sunday, between 9:00 p.m. and 00:00 a.m. (in summer from 10:00 p.m.) and as long as it does not coincide with a special event in which the color of the commemorative date will be given prominence
It is already underway. And it has already surprised neighbors and visitors. Since this week more than 110 spotlights illuminate La Penya and emblematic spaces of Finestrat such as the bell tower, the dome of the Church and the City Hall. It is the culmination of intelligent ornamental lighting. A work of half a million euros, subsidized 50% with European EU funds, which implements LED technology, efficient and sustainable to illuminate Finestrat at important times of the calendar such as the Day of the Valencian Community, 25N or these Christmas dates.
“Our neighbors and visitors are already witnesses of one of the actions that has most transformed the nocturnal image of our Penya. It is the intelligent lighting that, from today, gives us a very modern and unique image of La Penya with more than a hundred projectors on the slope on which our “Hanging Houses” sit. As a novelty, we have also re-illuminated the one known as “Penya Retor”, said the mayor, Nati Algado, during her visit with the mayor of European Funds, Héctor Baldó. This intelligent lighting has been implemented, in turn, in the bell tower and dome of the Sant Bertomeu parish church and on the two facades of the City Hall building, by Plaça La Torreta, carrer Major and the façade-clock of Plaça de l’Ajuntament.
It is an action that is part of the Finestrat projects as a more sustainable, more accessible and more innovative destination, within the 3 million European funds that the City Council achieved through the European Next Generation EU funds. Destination Tourism Sustainability Plans.
The budget amounts to €470,101.60, of which €240,000 are European Next Generation EU Funds and the remaining amount by the City Council.
