This Monday, July 6, the gym of the municipal pavilion of Finestrat reopens its doors with double the surface area: more space, more machinery, new fitness room and more hours
After 6 weeks of expansion and renovation works, the gym opens with double the surface area by going from 50m2 to 100m2 in the weight room. More space, more machinery and a new fitness room. It is a response to the demand of the population, especially the youngest.
The mayor, Nati Algado, visited the facility together with the Councilor for Sports, Beatriz Quintillán. From there he pointed out that “as we committed we have completed this action so demanded by our neighbors, especially the local youth. The pavilion’s gym doubles its surface area, we gain meters from 50 to 100, we gain spaciousness, we incorporate new machinery and we gain a new fully equipped fitness room. We also increased more hours for training: from Monday to Friday uninterrupted from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and also on weekends from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It is a response to the request that you have sent us and from this Monday you can enjoy it”.
In the weight room, they have also renewed paint and improved the functionality of the spaces to incorporate new machines such as Hip thrust, elliptical, dumbbell pyramids, Olympic discs and multifunctional machines for chest and shoulder muscles, among others. In addition, there will be a monitor in the room from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. 
The fitness room has a new space with a surface area of 65m2, suitable with a large-format mirror and an enclosure with a glass door and metal structure to improve accessibility from the hall of the pavilion. In this room the activities will start from September.
In both cases, both the weight room and the functional training fitness room have air conditioning and new technical sports flooring.
As for the fee, it is €20 per month and, if you are registered in Finestrat, no fee is paid.
The total investment amounts to € 47,734.50 contributed entirely from the City Council of Finestrat under the 2026 budget.
