He is firmly committed to grassroots sport. In this line, the City Council of Finestrat maintains its strong commitment to local sports clubs. Hence, the recent renewal of the collaboration agreement with the Unió Esportiva Finestrat Football Club. The agreement was signed by the mayor, Nati Algado and the president of the Club, Miguel Martínez Campoy, with the presence of the Councilor for Sports, Beatriz Quintillán. and the sports coordinator of the Club, Francisco Alemany “Repe”.
“From the City Council we are very clear about the importance of promoting sport from an early age to generate healthy lifestyle habits in the population, in addition to values such as teamwork, perseverance, effort and commitment. With all this, we have renewed and increased our support for the Unió Esportiva Finestrat Football Club, a local entity that brings together more than 120 players and continues to grow season after season,” saidthe mayor, Nati Algado.
The economic contribution by the City Council has been increased from €18,000 to €20,000 which will be used for general expenses such as the acquisition of sports equipment, refereeing service, first aid kits, competitions or sports equipment, among others; To this can be added €25,000 to cover the cost of buses for the teams to travel to their away games. For its part, the Club is committed to reserving 10% of the total places so that the City Council can grant them, free of charge, to those children in a situation of greater vulnerability and as established by the municipal Social Services.
It is important to note that the youth football academy of Finestrense ranges from “l’escoleta” with students of 4 and 5 years of age, pre-benjamín (6-7 years old), benjamín B and A (8-9 years old), alevín (10-11 years old), infant first and second year (11-13 years old), cadets (15 years old) and senior (from 18 years old). In total, more than 130 children and young people who train from Monday to Friday at Campo La Foia, in addition to the Senior team, continue to play their league in 3rd regional. In addition, for next year the Club plans to also have a youth category.
