The City Council continues to be committed to preserving traditional music with its support for the Rondalla
25/05/2026The Finestrat City Council and the Music School of the Puig Campana Musical Centre (CMPC) have renewed the collaboration agreement with the aim of continuing to promote musical training and cultural activity from this entity. The agreement was signed by the Mayor, Nati Algado and the President of the entity, Miguel Llorca, with the presence of the Councilor for Culture, Héctor Baldó, and the Secretary of the CMPC, Ambrosio Baldó.
Through this agreement, the council will allocate an economic contribution of € 40,000, contributing to the development of educational, training and cultural activities of l’Escola, as well as the promotion of music among neighbors of all ages through workshops, concerts, training programs and auditions, among other actions.
“As mayor of Culture I want to highlight the important role played by the Music School of the Puig Campana Musical Center in the cultural and educational life of Finestrat,” said the councilor, Héctor Baldó. “From their classrooms they have been offering quality training for years, bringing music closer to more and more families in the town”. “The work carried out by this School goes far beyond music education. It is a space for learning, coexistence and cultural promotion that is part of the life of our municipality.”
The Escola de Música has a long history in the municipality and has established itself as a benchmark in musical training, promoting both artistic learning and coexistence and cultural participation. From their classrooms, located in the Casa de la Cultura itself, they offer a diverse musical education, mainly aimed at training musicians for the Puig Campana Musical Centre, as well as providing a solid musical base to those students who wish to continue their training. Most of its students are children and adolescents from the municipality, since musical training begins at 5 years of age.
“From the City Council we will continue to bet on supporting the associations and entities that enrich our cultural offer and promote access to music and artistic education,” concluded Héctor Baldó. The most imminent will be the INNOVACANT concert that will be held this Friday at the Auditori del Castell de Finestrat from 8:30 p.m. PRESS OFFICE (25/05/2026)
