Massive follow-up of the World Cup final in Finestrat
20/07/2026The City Council renews the collaboration agreement with the Finestrat Scout Group with the aim of supporting and strengthening the important social work carried out by this youth entity in the municipality. The Mayor, Nati Algado and the president of the Group, Cristina Alejos, signed this agreement. At the time of the signing, the mayor of Childhood and Youth, Sara Llorca, was also present.
“In an increasingly digitalised society, scout activities represent an alternative of great value because it favours the face-to-face socialisation of young people. And it does so through days in which values such as teamwork, respect for the environment, responsibility, solidarity and learning through experience prevail. For all these reasons, we continue to support the Finestrat Scout Group”, themayor of Children and Youth, Sara Llorca.
Scout groups play a fundamental role in the training of local youth, offering safe spaces to learn values, develop personal and social skills, promote autonomy and enjoy healthy leisure away from excessive screen use.
Through this agreement, the council reaffirms its commitment to a local entity, the Finestrat Scout Group, which promotes the comprehensive development of children and young people through an educational methodology based on direct contact with nature. Throughout the year, the group organizes hiking trails, camping, camping, orientation activities, environmental education, volunteering and community projects, promoting respect for the natural environment, personal autonomy and teamwork.
The agreement, whose amount amounts to € 5,000, contributes to making it possible to carry out these activities in the natural environment. As an example of this work, during this year the Finestrat Scout Group has carried out its summer camp in the Pyrenees, an educational experience in which children and young people lived together for several days in the middle of nature, carrying out mountain routes, adventure activities, environmental education and learning in values, consolidating scouting as a tool for non-formal education linked to respect and knowledge of the natural environment.

Undoubtedly, their effort contributes to strengthening the local associative fabric and generating opportunities for young people to actively participate in the life of the municipality, developing values such as solidarity, inclusion, equality, commitment to our town and to the preservation of our natural environment”.
