Finestrat commemorates International Museum Day with a conference on pirates, corsairs and slaves at the Museum itself
18/05/2026The opening of general registration for the 9th edition of the Finestrat Lurbel Costa Blanca Trails starts this coming Monday, May 18. The event, consolidated in the mountain race calendar, is held on the weekend of November 13, 14 and 15 in Finestrat. And it will do so again boasting of its spectacular landscapes that run through the mountains of Puig Campana, Aiana and La Serrella. A mountain and sea environment whose formula has gained the loyalty of many runners from all over the world.
Finestrat will once again be the epicenter of the event organized by the Mountain Club Reto 8000 with the support of the Finestrat City Council. The different routes that form the backbone of the race program start from this town, all of them circular in nature to facilitate logistics for the participants. Five trail running events and a hiking walk to enjoy the main peaks and paths in the area. Up to a dozen municipalities are part of the itineraries: Finestrat, Polop de la Marina, Benimantell, Benifato, Beniardà, Quatretondeta, Fageca, Famorca, Confrides and Sella.
As in previous editions, the Costa Blanca Trails brings together several races: the Gran Trail Costa Blanca, with a demanding route of 102 kilometres and more than 6,000 metres of positive elevation gain. A challenge only at the height of the most physically and mentally prepared runners. The maximum time to complete it is 24 hours; the Ultra Trail Costa Blanca, with a route of 66 kilometers and 4,000 meters of positive elevation gain; the Costa Blanca Marathon, with 41 kilometres of route and 2,725 metres of positive elevation gain. Two high-caliber challenges to be completed in a time of 16 and 10 hours respectively; the Puig Campana Trail of 20 kilometers and the Sprint Trail Finestrat of 17 kilometers. Two more affordable options for runners with less experience in physical condition, or simply for those who prefer shorter and more explosive distances. The weekend’s program will be completed with the Costa Blanca Walk, a modality for walkers with a non-competitive route of 14 kilometers.
More than 2,000 bibs and three price
segmentsAmong its six modalities, the Lurbel Costa Blanca Trails launches a total of 2,250 bibs. The first price tranche will be extended over three weeks with special rates, from this Monday, May 18 to June 7. From June 8, the general period will be entered, until September 7. And the last price segment will be completed from September 8 to October 4.
All registered participants will have access to the refreshment stations at the route and finish line, and will receive a runner’s bag with different products from the sponsors, a commemorative technical t-shirt and technical socks from Lurbel. In addition, participants in the 102K and 66K modalities will also receive a Loop2 belt from Lurbel. And those who reach the finish line within the regulation times will also be presented with a finisher medal.
The Lurbel Costa Blanca Trails, in full growth, receives runners from all over the world every year. Because when the weather makes it impossible to hold mountain races in most of the national geography, Finestrat stands out as a territory with mild temperatures and suitable for enjoying trail running in all its essence.
In addition, the five competitive modalities of the program (GTCB, UTCB, MCB, TPC and STF) count for the ITRA ranking and qualify for the UTMB Index.
