27/07/2026The Patron Saint Festivities of Finestrat are, without a doubt, the most eagerly awaited days of the year by our neighbors. From August 15 to 24, the municipality dresses up to pay tribute to our patron saints, Sant Bertomeu and the Santíssim Crist del Remei, in a celebration that combines tradition, devotion, culture, music and coexistence.
Today we know the Program of Events of the Patron Saint Festivities of Finestrat. Festivities that began the countdown with the presentation of the Festival Book by the mayor, Nati Algado, the Councilor for Festivities and Traditions, Sara Llorca and the President and Vice President, Mamen Martorell and Mari Carmen Llorca, representing the 2026 La Xirimbela Festival Commission.

In the words of Sara Llorca, Councilor for Festivities and Traditions “this commission has known from the first day to unite, look at everything that our elders, our parents, our grandparents did before and merge it with the modernity that the youngest represent. Everything fits in these festivities and this commission has achieved it. This book shows that our traditions matter and that in Finestrat we know how to make people, we know how to make festivals”.
For its part, the Commission wanted to thank all those who have collaborated during this year to be able to reach this day and present the book of festivities and the events that we will be able to live and enjoy: “EThese festivities would not have been possible without the collaboration throughout the year of our husbands who have accompanied us in each celebration, without Pep el Fuster and José LLorca, who have taken charge of the kitchen during these last eleven months, without the collaborating companies, without the people who have participated in everything we have organized, ” he said the president of the Commission, Mamen Martorell. For its part, Mari Carmen Llorca, highlighted the role “of the older women who for a long time, especially in the post-war period when their husbands were forced to emigrate, they maintained the traditions and the sense of a festival in honour of Sant Bertomeu and the Santissim Crist del Remei”.

The mayor, Nati Algado wanted to congratulate and thank “for the effort, work and dedication of the Commission and all those, technical services, cleaning services, Local Police, Civil Protection who have been and will always be to make possible the festivities that are the most important event of the year in Finestrat”. He also encouraged “all the neighbors, and especially the youngest, to have this book of festivities in each house, a book where we not only find the program of events but also a part of our history.”
From August 15 to 24, the streets of the historic center will be filled with joy, music, gunpowder, tradition.
The festive program will include such emblematic and well-known events as the Day of the Paelles, the Valencian pilota games, the traditional Arreplegà de Barraques, the inaugural proclamation, the floral offering in honor of the patrons, children’s activities, musical shows and the traditional gunpowder acts that make Finestrat a festive reference in the region.
