
Finestrat receives €22,000 from the Alicante Provincial Council to promote local commerce, entrepreneurship and sustainable agriculture
27/07/2026The Youth Week will be held on August 10, 11 and 12, witha varied program designed to promote healthy habits, solidarity, emotional well-being and coexistence among the youth of Finestrat.
In the words of the Councilor for Children and Youth, Sara Llorca, “one of the most special moments of the year arrives and it is International Youth Day, which is commemorated every August 12. Around that date we have designed a varied, dynamic and participatory program so that our young people can enjoy a few days designed especially for them”. “With these activities,” he added, “we want to create meeting spaces where young people can share experiences, make new friendships and also reinforce important values such as coexistence, solidarity, teamwork and care for physical and emotional health.” Regarding the scheduled activities, Llorca pointed out that “we have organized from a first aid workshop for the little ones, to the Fòrum Jove on emotional well-being and a great final party with fun inflatable circuits, challenges and music. A week of attractive proposals for different ages and interests”.
Monday, August 10: Children’s First Aid + Blood
Donation WorkshopThe program will start in the morning at the Terra Marina Social Center with a Children’s First Aid Workshop, aimed at children from 3 to 9 years old. The activity will be divided into two groups of 15 participants: one from 3 to 5 years old and the other from 6 to 9 years old, adapting the contents to the age of each group. Through games and practical activities, the little ones will learn basic notions of first aid and the importance of knowing how to act in an emergency, including how and when to call 112, thus promoting prevention and education from an early age.
In the afternoon there will be a Blood Donation Day at the Health Center of the historic center of Finestrat (Serra Cortina street). With the aim of especially encouraging the young population to participate in this solidarity initiative. All people who donate blood that Monday will be entered into the draw for various gifts.
Tuesday 11th August: Fòrum Jove “Ment en Forma, Cos en Calma” in La Cala
On Tuesday, August 11, the Youth Forum “Ment en Forma, Cos en Calma” will take place in La Cala. The conference will be in La Cala and will focus on emotional well-being and promoting healthy habits both physically and emotionally.
The program will begin with a yoga and relaxation session, designed to disconnect from stress and learn basic breathing techniques. It will be in the Plaça de l’Àmfora in La Cala.
This will be followed by a forum on emotional management, led by professionals, in which participants will be able to reflect and share experiences on the importance of taking care of mental health, learning tools to manage emotions and promoting personal well-being.
To develop this activity, the Department of Youth has a subsidy of € 800 from the Provincial Council of Alicante within the call “Subsidy to City Councils and EATIM for activities in youth matters, 2026” to carry out the activity “Mind in shape, Body in calm”.
As a final touch to this day, attendees will enjoy a workshop on making açaí, discovering this popular food of Brazilian origin and promoting a healthy diet.
Wednesday 12 August – International Youth Day”: L’Estiu és Nostre
The programme will culminate with the celebration of “L’Estiu és Nostre“, a festive day that will take place in the municipal sports complex of La Foia.
During the afternoon there will be a great activity reminiscent of the television classic “Humor Amarillo”, with fun physical and skill tests on inflatable circuits and different team challenges, designed to promote fun, participation and teamwork.
In addition, the day will feature traditional games inspired by the popular cucañas, as well as small soccer and volleyball tournaments, offering activities for all participants.
The day will end with a “sopar de cabasset”, in which each participant will be able to bring their own dinner and with a musical session by the different local DJs, putting the finishing touch to the Youth Week with an atmosphere of coexistence and fun for all attendees.
Finally, the councilor encouraged participation in this initiative: “We invite all young people to join this Youth Week and to enjoy some activities that we have prepared with great enthusiasm to celebrate their day together and continue building a municipality that is increasingly participatory and committed to the young people of Finestrat”.
