LA PENYA RECICLA is back, a joint awareness campaign by ECOVIDRIO and the City Council of Finestrat during the Patron Saint Festivities with the aim of promoting glass recycling among all the supporters and residents of the municipality.
The initiative, which will take place on August 22 and 23, challenges all the barracks to participate in the contest and compete with each other to recycle as many kg of glass as possible during these days. The most recycling shack will take a batch of products from the land.
For the development of the contest, Ecovidrio will place a giant scale at the intersection of Benidorm Avenue with Maximiliano López Escudero Street, right at the “Font del LLeó”. The Councilor for Festivities, Sara Llorca, was there to encourage all the festeros and festeras of Finestrat to go to the scale on those days from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to weigh and recycle their glass container waste.
In addition, several educators will weigh the glass and keep track of the kg recycled by each of the supporters’ clubs, giving a gift to all those who participate. In addition, an eco-patrol will visit the festive clubs on August 22 and 23, at the same time, encouraging them to participate in the contest and recycle all the glass containers they generate.
On the other hand, supporters will be able to upload their most sustainable photos to social networks with the hashtag #LaPeñaRecicla.
Finestrat, ECOVIDRIO Green Flag 2023, 2024 and 2025
In the City Council’s commitment to sustainability, it should be remembered that in 2023 Finestrat achieved the Ecovidrio Green Flag of the entire Valencian Community, an award that it revalidated in 2024 and 2025 for the tons of packaging collected and the dissemination of the campaign.
Our commitment to recycling also covers the festivities and the entire festive collective.
