16/09/2026The aid will allow the development of a Spanish course aimed at residents of other nationalities as a tool for integration and coexistence.
The Finestrat City Council has received a grant of 2,692.41 euros awarded by the Alicante Provincial Council , within the framework of the call for aid intended for programs and activities related to international residents, year 2026 .
This aid is intended for the implementation of the “Spanish course for residents of other nationalities” , an initiative aimed at facilitating the learning and knowledge of the language among people residing in Finestrat from other countries.
From the Department of Education, Councillor Beatriz Quintillán emphasizes the importance of promoting these types of initiatives, especially in a municipality where 50% of residents are international. “Learning Spanish facilitates everyday communication, participation in municipal and social life, and integration into the community , while also fostering coexistence among residents of different nationalities.”
The course is designed as a tool to introduce the language to residents of Finestrat who wish to improve their Spanish, helping them to function more independently in different areas of daily life. “Every year these classes are fully booked and extremely popular among the non-native population, with over 120 participants. In addition to Spanish, we also offer Valencian classes through this department to promote knowledge and communication in both our languages.”
From here, we would like to express our gratitude, as always, to the Alicante Provincial Council for granting these subsidies, which allow us to continue developing initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of our citizens and, in this specific case, of the international population residing in Finestrat.
