The second edition of ‘Finestrat Emplea y Emprende’ aims to bring new job and entrepreneurship opportunities closer to the citizens

20/09/2026The challenge has been accepted. La Barraca L’Insomni takes over from La Xirimbela and will organize the 2027 Patron Saint Festivities of Finestrat. Until then, it will also be responsible for organizing the events on the Finestrat festival calendar, thus keeping alive the most deeply rooted popular traditions such as Sant Antoni del Porquet and L’Ereta.
The members of the L’Insomni group, 12 young people aged between 18 and 25, were received this Tuesday at the Finestrat Town Hall by the mayor, Nati Algado , and the councilor for Traditions and Festivals, Sara Llorca , after it was officially announced that they will be in charge of forming the Festival Commission for 2027 .
This marks the start of a year of work, involvement and participation in the festive life of the municipality and in close collaboration with the City Council to shape the program of the Patron Saint Festivities that are celebrated in August.
The mayor of Finestrat, Nati Algado , emphasized the commitment involved in taking on this responsibility and conveyed to the members of L’Insomni “the full support of the Town Hall to face this year of work and preparation.” In this regard, she highlighted that “being the Festival Committee means being an active part of the life of Finestrat throughout the year and taking on the challenge of keeping our traditions and festivals alive.”
For her part, the Councillor for Traditions and Festivals, Sara Llorca , emphasized the importance of the new generation of festival participants “taking up the mantle and continuing a tradition that is part of Finestrat’s identity.” She also encouraged L’Insomni to enjoy every stage of this journey leading up to the Patron Saint Festivals of 2027.
All this work will culminate in the Patron Saint Festivities of Finestrat 2027 , in honor of the Santíssim Crist del Remei and Sant Bertomeu , a celebration that is one of the great events of the municipal festive calendar.
The festivities have been declared a Festival of Local Tourist Interest and are notable each year for the high participation of residents and visitors. The 2026 edition featured nearly 60 festival tents and more than 1,000 participants , reflecting the importance of these celebrations for the municipality and the deep roots of the festival tradition in Finestrat.
