The Local Security Board of Finestrat met today to coordinate the special device on the occasion of the Patron Saint Festivities of August 2026, with the aim of sharing the different planned operations and guaranteeing maximum coordination between the Security Forces and Corps and the different municipal departments involved in the organization of the festivities.
The meeting was chaired by the mayor of Finestrat and was attended by the sub-delegate of the Government in Alicante, Manuel Pineda; the Councilor for Citizen Security, Beatriz Quintillán, as well as representatives and commanders of the Civil Guard, Local Police and other agencies participating in the municipal security device on the occasion of the patron saint festivities.
During the meeting, the actions planned for the days with the greatest influx of public have been analyzed, establishing the coordination protocols between the different services in order to offer a quick and effective response to any incident. Likewise, aspects related to citizen safety, traffic regulation, emergency plans, civil protection and health coordination have been addressed, so that residents and visitors can enjoy safe festivities.
In the words of Nati Algado, Mayor of Finestrat, “Prevention, planning and coordination are our best tools to guarantee safe Patron Saint Festivities. That is the commitment of all the administrations that have sat at this table today: to work in a coordinated way so that residents and visitors enjoy safe festivities”.
The Local Security Board has highlighted the importance of working together and permanent collaboration between all administrations and security forces, a coordination that is essential to guarantee the normal development of the festive events and reinforce security during the celebrations.
During the meeting, a balance was also made of the current state of the protection system for victims of gender violence in the municipality, within the framework of the existing collaboration agreement between the Local Police of Finestrat and the Civil Guard. During this point, the evolution of active cases and the functioning of the monitoring and protection mechanisms were analysed, highlighting the close cooperation between both bodies to offer comprehensive care and an effective response to victims.
The Finestrat City Council has thanked the involvement and commitment of all the institutions and professionals who participate in this device, highlighting that advance planning and coordination between administrations are the best guarantee for the Patron Saint Festivities of August 2026 to take place with total normality, safety and tranquility for all citizens.
