Finestrat achieves the Q Award for Tourism Quality

La Cala’s Tourist Info has been recognised at FITUR 2024 with the Q Award for Tourism Quality awarded by the ICTE (Spanish Tourism Quality Institute). This distinction recognizes the effort of the City Council and specifically of the Department of Tourism for the promotion of certified Tourism Quality and Sustainability. The award was collected by the Councilor for Tourism, Donna R. Plummer, at the Q Night, an event attended by the 1st Deputy Mayor, Nati Algado, the director of “Finestrat, Smart Tourist Destination”, Miguel Ángel Catalán and Estefanía Lloret, from the municipal department of Tourism.

It should be remembered that, since April last year, the Tourist Info of La Cala changed its location to be located right in front of the beach promenade, closer to the sea. These new facilities have an Information area, a playroom with a mural that represents the Cala in a children’s key, a touch screen and an audiovisual room that, in the near future, will be equipped with new technologies with immersive experiences. The Councilor for Tourism, Donna R. Plummer, thanked this award “because it recognizes the effort we have been making in meeting all the parameters of quality and excellence in our service and in our facilities”. The “Q” mark for Tourism Quality provides prestige, differentiation and also promotion of the Finestrat destination. “We are very proud of this recognition of our Tourist Info in La Cala, an office in which we will soon activate new technologies with immersive experiences to take a further step in the promotion of everything we have in Finestrat”.

To achieve these distinctions, the City Council of Finestrat has European funds Next Generation EU: Action 32 of Training and Quality Improvement Plans in Destination (SICTED), through a grant of € 7,018.00 for the service contract for the obtaining and maintenance of Q Turística and S Sustainability.
