Today, Sunday, the 2nd day of our Gastronomic and Traditional Market of #Finestrat begins.
We continue with itinerant performances, storytelling, music and the typical recipes of Festes Finestrat, Dones Finestrat and tod@s our stalls.
The performance of the Muixeranga d’Alacant and the K-Pop Warriors will NOT take place.

The Gastronomic and Traditional Market of Finestrat celebrates 10 years. As is customary, it will be held in the streets of the traditional historic center the weekend after Easter. Therefore, this year it will be on April 11 and 12. A tourist, commercial and leisure proposal, full of tradition, which attracts more and more national and international visitors every year. The presentation of this X edition was attended by the Mayor, Nati Algado, the Councilor for Markets, Donna R. Plummer, the President of the Associació de Dones, Maribel Algado and Menvi Soguez, from the Comissió de Festes 2026 La Xirimbela.
The Mayor, Nati Algado , invited the population of Finestrat and the entire Community “to experience this tourist proposal that, after 10 years, is fully consolidated in the calendar of festive events of the Community. I invite you to discover our streets, to walk, to reconnect with those ancient trades such as wood carving, glass, wrought iron… to taste the most traditional cuisine of our town. It is a market that is open to everyone, for the older and also for the youngest. There will be more than 70 craft and gastronomy stalls. There will be no shortage of children’s entertainment, storytelling, musical shows and much more. You can discover everything on the weekend of April 11 and 12. You can also participate in the Discover Finestrat Tourism Route and let yourself be surprised by the magic of a town that, once again, values gastronomy and tradition in our iconic historic center”.
The Mercat de Finestrat covers the main streets of the traditional historic centre such as Carrer Nou, Sant Vicent, Plaça del Poble and Carrer Castellets. The programme is designed to entertain all audiences with events such as the spectacular human towers of the Muixeranga d’Alacant, demonstrations of ancient crafts such as wood carving, blown glass or iron forging, itinerant music of a Mercat classic, the TURDION group, live performances such as SWAG, Unusual Band and VSwing 4et and a varied children’s program.
Children’s programming
The little ones will have, as always, a leading role with proposals such as the animal farm, the wooden fair, juggling, storytelling such as Uncle Carxofa and A cart full of garrofes, the show “El Circ de l’Horta”, among others.
Gastronomy
As for gastronomy, there will be no shortage of typical recipes of the delicious Finnish cuisine by the Comissió de Festes 2026 La Xirimbela, which will have a bar at popular prices in the Plaça de L’Ajuntament. There will also be a point of sale of kilometre 0 products, of proximity, by the “Associació Dones Finestrat” such as sobrasada, vermouth, coca girà or coca flocà.
Among the local stalls, the 2 educational centers, “Puig Campana” and “Balcó de Finestrat” also participate, as well as the Alicante Association against cancer, headquarters of Finestrat.
Discover Finestrat
RouteWithin the program proposed for the Mercat there will be guided routes by Finestrat Tourism staff to stroll through the traditional historic center, discover corners full of charm and immerse yourself in the history of this town in the Marina Baixa. The route will depart from the Tourist Office of Plaça del Poble, at 11:00 a.m. (Saturday and Sunday) and also on Saturday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. More information and reservations on the Tourism WhatsApp 648 653 219. To facilitate the journey there will be a bus from La Cala with a stop in urbanizations with the following schedules:
In the morning.
• Departure: 09:45h. La Cala (AleHop stop)-Urbanizaciones-Fonteta (Start Market).
• Return: 2:00 p.m. Fonteta (Mercat)-Urbanizaciones-La Cala (AleHop stop)
In the afternoon.
• Departure: 4:00 p.m. La Cala-Urbanizaciones-Fonteta (Mercat).
• Return: 9:30 p.m. Fonteta (Mercat)-Urbanizaciones-La Cala.

PARKING SPORTS AREA AND SHUTTLE BUS TO THE MARKET
If you come with your vehicle you can park in the main car park is the La Foia sports area (pavilion). From there there will be a shuttle bus connecting to the Mercat with continuous departures:
- from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
