On Saturday, June 6, between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., the Department of the Environment organizes a day of family coexistence with educational workshops and fun for the whole family
Next Saturday, June 6, the City Council of Finestrat, through the Department of the Environment, will commemorate World Environment Day with a special day at the Font del Molí, which will be held between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. This is the first time that the municipality hosts this date with a specific program in this emblematic natural area.
Under the slogan “The Guardians of the Planet”, the initiative is aimed at children and families and proposes a morning of coexistence, learning and leisure in contact with nature. The activity is inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda will transform the Font del Molí site into a dynamic space for environmental education, creativity and citizen participation.
The day will include educational workshops, cooperative games and sustainable activities adapted to different ages, with the aim of promoting ecological awareness from childhood. The programme will focus on the fight against climate change, the reduction of plastic waste and the importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions as key measures to curb global warming.
The Councilor for the Environment, Estela Álvarez, stressed that this initiative seeks to “raise awareness among citizens from an early age, promoting values of respect and care for the environment through play, active participation and creativity”.
The development of the activity will follow a participatory, inclusive methodology adapted by age, with the possibility for attendees to rotate freely through different thematic spaces guided by specialized monitors.
In addition, the day will feature inflatables and sports and recreational games, in order to expand the recreational offer and encourage the participation of the whole family.
With this celebration, the City Council of Finestrat and the Department of the Environment reaffirm their commitment to environmental education and sustainability, promoting initiatives that turn natural spaces into meeting, learning and awareness points for all citizens.
