The Mayor of Finestrat meets with the Minister of Education to address educational needs such as school No. 3
13/03/2026The Mayor and Head of the Health Department, Nati Algado, announced the addition of another primary care physician to the La Cala clinic. Speaking from the clinic itself, the mayor stated, “For years we have been advocating for an additional doctor at this clinic, given the population growth Finestrat has been experiencing. This extra family doctor is now seeing patients at the clinic, providing better service by streamlining appointments and reducing waiting times. We are very grateful to the Regional Ministry of Health for addressing this important request from our residents.”
As a result, in the last two years the La Cala clinic has gone from having 2 Primary Care consultations to 1 Pediatric consultation.
It’s worth remembering that in 2021, the City Council spearheaded the expansion, modernization, and renovation of this clinic with an investment of €103,000, €100,000 of which was provided by the Valencian Regional Government. At that time, they added another consultation room to advocate for pediatric services and thus prevent families from Cala and surrounding residential areas from having to travel to the historic center. “This request was granted by the Valencian Regional Government in 2024. And now, we are taking a very important step by adding another doctor to handle the increased number of consultations needed to meet the growing demand at this clinic.”
