18/03/2026The mayor of Finestrat, Nati Algado, met yesterday in Valencia with the Minister of Education, Maria del Carmen Ortí Ferre, to continue making progress on issues affecting the town’s education sector, such as the construction of school number 3 in the residential area. Also present at the meeting were the Councilor for Education, Beatriz Quintillán, the municipal technician for the area, Ángel Lloret, and, from the Ministry of Education, the Director General of Educational Centers, Jorge Cabo, and the Director General of Educational Infrastructure, José María Larena.
In the words of the mayor, Nati Algado , “We met in Valencia with the Regional Minister of Education, Mª Carmen Ortí Ferre, to convey the real need of our municipality, which is constantly growing, especially with many young families. We need this third Infant and Primary school, for which the City Council is working. In fact, we have the space available, a 12,000m2 plot located in the residential area, very close to the entrance to Terra Marina.”
It is worth remembering that Finestrat currently has 2 educational centers for Infant and Primary education: CEIP Puig Campana, in the historic center and CEIP Balcó de Finestrat, in urbanizations, where the first Secondary Institute, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training cycles are currently being built.
“Therefore, we continue to work with the Ministry in a coordinated and joint manner to meet the educational need for a third school, which is very real in our municipality.”
