Decreed pre-emergency level 3 for fire risk: from 19 to 21 August
27/08/2026Finestrat will celebrate its festivities in La Cala from September 11 to 13
27/08/2026Finestrat takes a new step to adapt public transport to the reality and growth of the municipality. From September 1, the Generalitat, at the request of the City Council, expands the bus service with 3 new stops in urbanization areas and more schedules that adjust to the real needs of the families of Finestrat.
This was pointed out by the mayor, Nati Algado, in the presentation of the reinforcement of the public transport service, together with the Third Vice-President and Minister of the Environment, Infrastructure, Territory and Recovery of the Generalitat Valenciana, Vicente Martínez Mus, the Regional Secretary, Javier Sendra, the Director General of Transport, Manuel de los Ríos and the Councilor for Mobility, Beatriz Quintillán. The event was also attended by the regional deputy and President of the Mare Residus Consortium, José Ramón González de Zárate.
In her speech, the mayor of Finestrat, Nati Algado, valued the collaboration between both administrations to respond to a neighborhood demand: “It is a real need that the neighbors have transferred to us. That need became a priority for this government team. We have been working on this for some time. We are a growing municipality and, thanks to the Generalitat, we respond to that growth and to the new mobility needs of the municipality”. “Beyond transport, it is also a question of autonomy and quality of life. From September we incorporated 3 new stops, on Avenida América and inside Terra Marina. This will allow neighbors, young and old, to use public transport to come to sports, educational, cultural activities… And this is only the first step. Finestrat continues to grow. And we have to accompany this growth with more services, with more connection, for all population centers and also with the surrounding municipalities.”
For his part, the third vice-president and Minister of the Environment, Infrastructure, Territory and Recovery, Vicente Martínez Mus, after meeting with the mayor of Finestrat, Nati Algado, stressed that “this expansion means more public transport for a growing municipality and allows improving the coverage of the service in areas where new developments are taking place”.
NEW STOPS
The main novelties. Finestrat incorporates 3 new bus stops: one on Costa Brava street in the Terra Marina urbanization and two on Avenida América, in both directions of traffic.
As examples for users of line 15 there will be these times of passage, for the 1st time, in Avenida América and Terra Marina:
- Direction IDA. Departure from Finestrat (village) at 17:05, 20:05 and 21:05. It stops at Avenida América and Calle Costa Brava (Terra Marina) at 5:20 p.m., 8:20 p.m. and 9:20 p.m., respectively.
- Direction RETURN. Departure from Benidorm or Villajoyosa to Finestrat (Town): at 5:35 p.m., 6:35 p.m. and 8:35 p.m. It stops at c/Costa Brava (Terra Marina) at 5:48 p.m., 6:48 p.m. and 8:48 p.m. respectively.
NEW EXPEDITIONS
The reinforcement of public transport also incorporates new expeditions:
- Departure of the BUS from Finestrat town to Benidorm at 9:05 p.m.
- And departure from Benidorm (Hotel Bali) in the direction of Finestrat at 8:35 p.m.
The new schedules will begin in September and have been established taking into account realities transferred by the neighbors such as the possibility of participating in extracurricular, sports or cultural activities. “We want the families of Finestrat, wherever they live, to be able to really consider attending the sports, cultural, educational activities that we organize by bus to Finestrat”.
With this extension, the City Council and the Generalitat respond to a demand from the neighbourhood and adapt public transport to a growing Finestrat that needs its services to continue to adapt to this growth and to the mobility needs of its population.
Better connection between the main Finestrat cores
Line 15 connects Finestrat Pueblo with Balcón, Golf Bahía, the Commercial Boulevard, Cales y Atalaies and Benidorm, with the routes planned in the extended service from September.
For its part, line 19 is also offered in the municipality that connects Finestrat Pueblo with the Commercial Boulevard, Cales y Atalaies, the Regional Hospital and Villajoyosa and line 14 that connects Finestrat Pueblo with Cales y Atalaies and Benidorm, arriving at Salto del Agua.
Likewise, the existing lines allow Finestrat to be connected with the rest of the collective public transport network by transfer, mainly on the Finestrat Commercial Boulevard and in Cales y Atalaies, also facilitating the connection with FGV.
These improvements are part of the CE-711 in-service contract, put into service in 2026 and which incorporated improvements from the outset. The extended service includes expeditions from early in the morning until late at night, with differentiated schedules depending on the line and the direction of the route.
