08/04/2026The mayor, Nati Algado, presents the MAPA of Assets for Health with 70 active ingredients that contribute to the well-being and improvement of the quality of life of citizens
The City Council of Finestrat has presented, coinciding with April 7, World Health Day, the Map of assets for community health. It is a tool to identify, make visible and make available to citizens the resources of the municipality that contribute to the well-being and improvement of the quality of life of residents.
In the presentation , the mayor and head of the Health area, Nati Algado, explained that this fieldwork began several months ago with citizen consultations, both online and workshops at street level in the historic center and La Cala. “With all the information collected today we present this Map of Health Assets, which is that photograph where, in a very graphic and visual way, the Health Assets that we have today throughout the municipality are represented. These assets go far beyond health and care resources. We are talking about everything that contributes to improving physical and mental health, such as the environment itself, social ties, physical activity, culture, the environment and access to local resources, among other assets”. “Thank you for citizen participation,” said Nati Algado, with more than 100 contributions. Also the involvement of various municipal areas, as well as private entities associated with the health and care field”.
This joint work has made it possible to identify and order more than 70 health assets in Finestrat. CHECK MAP HERE
Among them are social and health services such as the two doctors’ offices, pharmacies and the availability of defibrillators in various key points of the town; the natural spaces, parks and green areas “with a special recognition of our Puig Campana, the local paths, the Font del Molí, our beach of La Cala and also the Parc Alcalde Miguel Llorca”; sports facilities such as the sports hall, swimming pool, football pitch and gymnasium; cultural and social facilities such as the House of Culture, the Museum, the Youth Centre, the Llar del Pensionista or the Cala Social Centre; also municipal initiatives “such as Gymnastics for health, outdoor sports activities in La Foia and in the Plaça de l’Àmfora in La Cala, in addition to the outstanding role of about 20 associations that promote coexistence, healthy lifestyle habits and social participation, key to the care of physical and mental health”.
This document is also a key reference to continue advancing in future actions to promote health, citizen participation and improve the environment.
The map is now available for consultation on the municipal website www.ayto-finestrat.es. It has also been published in physical format in brochures that will be distributed in various parts of the municipality, with the aim of promoting access to the entire population. In addition, the content will also be disseminated through physical and digital MUPIS, reinforcing its visibility in the urban space. “With the presentation of the Finestrat Asset Map coinciding with World Health Day, we want to highlight the importance of knowing, caring for and activating the local resources that make Finestrat a healthier, more cohesive municipality and committed to the well-being of our neighbours”.
This map has been developed within the framework of the project “Finestrat, an asset for health. Map of assets and citizen perception for the promotion of community health”, financed by the Ministry of Health of the Generalitat Valenciana with €2,264.21 within the call for aid for the deployment of the Health Plan of the Valencian Community in the municipalities.
Finally, it is worth highlighting the dynamic and open nature of the document “which will be nourished by all those assets that contribute to health and well-being”. To send contributions that do not appear in the current document, you can send an email to the address contacta@finestrat.org
