25/02/202611 LOCAL POLICE OFFICERS FROM FINESTRAT WILL RECEIVE THIS THEORETICAL-PRACTICAL TRAINING
The City Council of Finestrat together with the Local Police and SPPLB (Professional Union of Local Police and Firefighters) have presented the course on drug detection while driving. A course that will be held on May 4 and 8 in Finestrat.
The presentation of this formation was attended by the mayor, Nati Algado, the councilor for citizen security, Beatriz Quintillán, the head of the Local Police, Agustín Rubio, the Regional Secretary of the SPPLB, Francisco A. González and the Regional Secretary of Training, Iván Fernández. The course will be taught by Rubén J. Martínez, an agent of the Benidorm Local Police.
This course, to which 11 local police officers from Finestrat will be enrolled, is the one required by the Valencian Institute of Public Security to be able to homologate the performance of drug detection tests and that these are valid in any report presented to a court. It will also allow local police officers to sanction offenders who test positive in a control.

The local police officers of Finestrat or those local police officers of the region, as well as individuals, will receive training in which the participation of a doctor is also established to explain how it can affect driving in terms of medicines. On the last day of this training, a real control will be carried out on public roads for students to show their knowledge in drug detection tests.
This course is also a requirement of the Criminal Procedure Law as a requirement to be able to take a drug test, so that any driver, under the influence of a drug, does not go unpunished.
