25/02/2026The 1st blood donation of 2026 arrives in Finestrat. It will be on Monday, February 23, at the “Fernando Martínez” Medical Office, located on Serra Cortina street from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. As on these occasions, the Department of Health calls for participation given the importance of having blood reserves in hospitals.
“Being a donor is being supportive and generous with people who need it. About 30 people usually participate in each blood donation we make. And I want to take advantage of this 1st donation day of the year to thank the 200 people who last year dedicated part of their time to donate. It is a gesture of generosity that saves lives,” he sayspointed out the Mayor and Councilor for Health, Nati Algado.
Requirements to donate blood
As for the requirements, it is necessary to be between 18 and 65 years of age, carry your ID card, weigh more than 50 kg, be well hydrated and never fast. Men can donate 4 times a year and women, 3, leaving a break of 2 months between donations.
If you have or have had a fever or respiratory conditions in the last 14 days, you cannot donate blood.
