For a more sustainable, efficient, and modern Finestrat. Currently, work is underway to implement LED technology in the Sierra Cortina residential area, replacing nearly 300 streetlights. Mayor Nati Algado and Councilor for Public Works Guillermo Lloret were present at the site. This work will continue in other areas of the town in the coming weeks. “Today, more than 50% of Finestrat’s public lighting is LED; we’re talking about more than 2,300 streetlights that are already LED. And our intention is to continue expanding this technology. It’s a more efficient technology that means lower energy consumption and, therefore, greater savings, as well as less environmental impact,” stated Councilor for Public Works and Projects, Guillermo Lloret.
Also, 100% of municipal buildings have installed LED lighting. In this regard, it is worth mentioning other energy efficiency measures such as the self-sufficiency of public buildings (the medical center in the historic district, the two educational centers, and the EMUFI Municipal Nursery School), with solar panels installed on their roofs to generate the electricity they consume.
