April Fair in La Cala de Finestrat with music, dance, sevillanas and tapas competition on the weekend of May 2nd and 3rd
02/04/2026On the occasion of Book Day and the Month of Letters, more than 100 books begin to circulate in Finestrat that will be available in municipal offices and about a hundred establishments. It is the campaign “Llibres Lliures” launched by the Department of Culture from April 1 to 30 with the slogan “On em veges, agafa’m i deixa’n un altre” to promote reading and the exchange of books.
Llibres Lliures Campaign: from 1 to 30 April
From the Department of Culture they circulate more than 100 books from their bibliographic collections. They are already available to readers in municipal offices and also in nearly 90 establishments that have joined the “Llibres Lliures 2026” campaign this year. “From yesterday, April 1 and throughout this month our neighbors will find in different points titles of children’s and young people’s literature, which is commemorated just today, April 2. Also readings for adult audiences, in Spanish, in Valencian, in English… We are very happy because this year more establishments have joined Llibres Lliures, both in La Cala and in the historic center. So from Culture we invite you to participate in this enriching book exchange”. As the motto says “On em veges, agafa’m i deixan’n un altre“, so that anyone can take one of these books in exchange for leaving another. 
In the presentation of the campaign, Héctor Baldó, Councilor for Culture, together with the head of the Municipal Library, Paco Estela, said that this edition comes with surprises: “It is the initiative entitled “Llegir per a sentir” that we will be able to discover on the same Book Day, April 23,” advanced, Héctor Baldó, mayor of Culture.
April 2. Children’s and Young People’s Book Day. Workshop “Colors que conten històries”,
This afternoon, coinciding with Children’s and Young People’s Literature Day, the Library hosts a workshop entitled “Colors that contain stories”. Organized by the Department of Culture, through AVIVA Finestrat, and the Department of Children and Youth there will be a storyteller and a workshop to create bookmarks inspired by the story told. Places sold out.
April 23. International Book Day
Coinciding with this anniversary, the date on which 3 greats of universal literature died, Miguel de Cervantes, William Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, there will be a storyteller in Valencian, promoted by AVIVA Finestrat: “Contes desbaratats” by the company Disparatario. “Què passa quan les plantes creixen més del compte? 1 April. Literary presentation
Yesterday, April 1, the Museu de Finestrat hosted the literary presentation of the work “This is nothing Spanish”, by Uliana Naglia Kurasheva. More than a book, it is an emotional and artistic experience. The electronic version includes original illustrations by the author, created in the Fluid Art technique, which accompany the texts and enrich the message.
The event opens this month of letters, together with the pictorial exhibition “Between what flows and what remains” by the same author and curated by the CEO, Marichel López Catalá. An event in which there was a perfect marriage between literature, painting and passion for the world of wine.
The exhibition can be visited until April 27 at the Museu de Finestrat, located in the Parc Alcalde Miguel Llorca. Visiting hours are: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; these same days when they are holidays and Sundays, only morning hours from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
