The Valencian poet will present his new book of poems on Thursday, October 8th at the Museum of Finestrat, published by Editora BGR, a publishing house based in the municipality.
As part of the celebrations for October 9th, Finestrat will hold a meeting dedicated to Valencian poetry and literary creation on the eve of the holiday, Thursday, October 8th.
At 7:00 p.m., the Finestrat Museum will host the presentation of Els Colps de la Sal by the Valencian poet Pere Bessó , published by Editora BGR .
The presentation is part of the activities linked to the celebration of October 9th and brings together three elements closely related to the territory: language, Valencian literary creation and independent publishing developed from Finestrat.
Els cops de la sal is a proposal that maintains Valencian as the language of creation and, at the same time, expands access to the work to readers from both linguistic areas.
Pere Bessó, a career linked to Valencian poetry
Pere Bessó (Valencia, 1951) is a poet, philologist, translator, and teacher, with a literary career that began in the 1970s. His work has maintained a close link with the Valencian language and literature throughout the years and has received various awards, including the Ausiàs March Poetry Prize.
The presentation will allow attendees to learn about his career and the key aspects of Els colps de la sal , and to share a reading and conversation with the author about his poetry.
An edition produced in Finestrat
The publication of the work by Editora BGR , an independent publishing house based in Finestrat, also adds a local dimension to the event. The project links the work of a Valencian author with the publishing efforts carried out within the municipality itself and with the contemporary dissemination of Valencian-language literature.
The event has the collaboration of AVIVA Finestrat, the Valencià Promotion Agency, and the Culture Department of the Finestrat City Council .
