Committed to culture and local associations: renewal of the agreement with the “Agrupació Coral de Finestrat”

The City Council continues to be committed to the promotion of culture and the support of initiatives promoted by local entities such as, in this case, the Agrupació Coral de Finestrat. For this reason, the collaboration agreement is renewed through the signing of the agreement by the Mayor, Nati Algado, and the President of the Choir, Antonio Galiana. At the time of the signing, the Councilor for Culture, Héctor Baldó and Mª Carmen Llinares Llorca, Secretary of the Association, were also present.

“Having cultural associations as active in our town as l’Agrupació Coral is a real pride. It energizes culture, encourages coexistence, socialization and is also a perfect complement to musical training at all ages. From this City Council we will always support them because it is key to preserve our traditions, our choral musical heritage and, at the same time, build community,” said the Councilor for Culture, Héctor Baldó.

The economic contribution from the City Council has increased this year to €19,000. Among the activities supported by this agreement is the celebration of the Trobada de la Cançó de la Mar in La Cala, “which this year celebrates its 28th anniversary”; also the trips to other towns to participate in exchange musical performances, sung masses or seasonal concerts such as Christmas, Autumn and Spring.

Spring Concert: Sunday 26
This Sunday, April 26, the Casa de Cultura hosts the Spring concert of the Agrupació Coral de Finestrat directed by José Vicente Algado Climent. The proposal is “Una vesprada de sarssuela” with songs such as Las leandras, Gigantes y Cabezudos, La chulapona, Alma de Dios or La Marchanera or El Barberillo de Lavapies, with the soprano soloist Herminia Ripoll, among other pieces.
