Finestrat modernises its tourist portal to improve the digital visitor experience with European funds
18/05/2026“A girl between two worlds”. The girl is Sara Blaha, 11 years old, a resident of Finestrat. 3 years ago he came from Hungary with his family. Today she is studying 5th year at CEIP Balcó in Finestrat. And his life experience has been reflected in this drawing that received in 2025 the special mention of the Young European Heritage Makers 2025 contest, within the European Heritage Days program, by reflecting with such sensitivity those 2 worlds: Hungary and Spain.
The mayor, Nati Algado, together with the mayor of Education, Beatriz Quintillán, received Sara and her family to congratulate her for this artistic creation that has made her worthy of a special mention at a national and European level. At the meeting, Sara had the opportunity to explain what inspired her to draw it: “The girl is me, between 2 flags, that of Hungary and that of Spain, with typical elements of Spain such as the flamenco dancer. And typical of Hungary such as the bird”. 
“We wanted to personally congratulate Sara and her family for this well-deserved international special mention,” said Nati Algado, mayor of Finestrat. “It is the look of a girl captured in a drawing: how she has lived that process of leaving her country behind and starting again in a different country, ours, where they feel very integrated and supported. I think it is a beautiful example of integration, of artistic creativity, which has also projected the name of Finestrat throughout Europe”. (PRESS OFFICE.18.5.2026)
