Finestrat promotes virtual reality and gamification at the Tourist Info in La Cala
18/05/2026The new website will be natively integrated with Tourist Info’s management systems, optimising the updating of content and events.
The action is part of the Destination Tourism Sustainability Plan (PSTD) and has an investment of 14,653 euros co-financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU
The Finestrat City Council takes another step in its consolidation as a Smart Tourist Destination (DTI) with the start of the development of its new tourism website. This project seeks to transform the digital presence of the municipality, offering a more visual, accessible portal adapted to the needs of today’s tourist.
The new portal will not only renew the aesthetic image of the destination, but will also implement a state-of-the-art content management system (CMS). The main technical novelty is the native integration with the internal management system of the tourist office, which will allow the agenda of events, hotel and commercial resources to be synchronised automatically, eliminating duplications and ensuring that the user always has updated information in real time.
“We want our tourist office and our web portal to speak the same language,” said the councillor for the area, Donna R. Plummer, from the Tourism area. “With this new tool, the visitor will enjoy intuitive and responsive navigation, while the technical staff will be able to manage the information much more efficiently, reversing that time saving in a better service to the visiting public to the Tourist Info”.
The project has a total budget of €14,278.00, financed with €9,132.11 (63.9%) by the funds of the European Union’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (RTRP) and 36.04% by municipal own funds, €5,145.89.
This action is part of Action 20 of the Finestrat PSTD, focused on the digitalisation of technological equipment.
