Egalitarian co-education sessions conclude in the classrooms of the Finestrat schools

The sessions of egalitarian coeducation in the 2 Infant and Primary schools of Finestrat, CEIP Puig Campana and CEIP Balcó de Finestrat, conclude. This action, promoted by the Department of Equality, has been taught for 15 years every school year, between October and April, to prevent gender violence and promote equality.

These sessions include awareness-raising dynamics on equality and diversity, and training in values such as empathy and respect.

The activities are subsidized by the Alicante Provincial Council, in the case of Primary Education workshops; and the Infant sessions have the help of the Ministry of Equality, through the State Pact against Gender Violence.

As indicated by the Councilor for Equality, Mª Teresa Pérez, “it is essential to work in these areas from a very early age and in coordination with the educational community. This is what we have been doing from the City Council for more than 15 years, with the support of the Provincial Council and also the State Pact. It is important to note that these sessions are perfectly adapted to the stage of the students. For this reason, with Infant children we focus on emotions and basic values. And with the oldest in the 5th and 6th year of Primary we work on prevention, taking into account the use of the Internet and social networks”. (PRESS OFFICE. 30.4.2026)
