Finestrat and Veolia invest more than €350,000 for the Digitalization of Water

THESE ACTIONS WILL IMPROVE THE CONTROL OF DRINKING WATER QUALITY AND THE MANAGEMENT OF WASTEWATER AND RAINWATER

17 actions to digitise and control Finestrat’s water network more effectively. This will be possible through the sensorization of the network, the control of water quality or the monitoring of discharge points, actions promoted by the City Council together with Veolia, the water cycle management company in the municipality. To address the evolution of these actions that are already underway, the mayor, Nati Algado, together with the Councilor for Works and Projects, Guillermo Lloret and the urban planning technician responsible for the project, Oscar Llorca, received the manager of Veolia, Ciriaco Clemente.

“We are talking about an innovative and qualitative leap in the management of water cycles in our network, which generates direct advantages such as constant control of water quality, early detection of leaks and breakdowns to avoid supply cuts. Also the savings in water losses in the network, better control of discharges and a more efficient use of water resources with the positive impact that all this generates on the environmental sustainability of our town “, said the mayor, Nati Algado.

Specifically, the project presented by Finestrat and which is already being developed, is made up of five blocks. The first of them focuses on issues related to the automation and digitalization of the Terra Marina supply depot, while the second consists of the implementation of the necessary tools for the sensorization and digitalization of the supply network. On the other hand, actions have been awarded that aim to digitise and continuously monitor water quality at sampling points in tanks and in the supply network. Similarly, another of the blocks includes the monitoring of discharge points into the environment, while the last one contemplates the remote control of wastewater pumping stations.

With a view to the management and improvement of the service to citizens, these actions will involve intelligent management of the water cycle in real time, which will allow technical staff to instantly know the status of the entire water infrastructure (tanks, networks, pumps, leaks, etc.) through sensors and automated systems. In the same way, the objective is to constantly monitor the quality of the water that reaches the homes of Finestrat, guaranteeing at all times the service that citizens receive.

Another advantage of these actions is that it improves efficiency by automating processes that previously required manual interventions, which reduces the response time to any incident.

On the other hand, they also include actions for the monitoring of discharge points and the remote control of wastewater pumping stations. In addition, there will be direct control of the flows of some ravines.

These actions that make up the PERTE for the Digitalization of the Water Cycle involve an investment of € 357,898.52 and have the support of the Generalitat Valenciana, through the aid for digitalization in municipalities of less than 20,000 inhabitants of the Valencian Community was granted by the Regional Secretariat of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries within the framework of the Recovery Plan. transformation and resilience, funded by the European Union-NextGenerationEU.

The project as a whole is expected to be completed before March 31 of this year.
