The Plenary Session of the City Council of Finestrat approves today in ordinary session a budget modification of € 4.4 million that will come out of the remainder of the Treasury and that will allow it to address different projects throughout this year.
At the end of the plenary session, the mayor, Nati Algado, stated that “we approved in today’s plenary session this budget modification that has been possible because we have left the Adjustment Plan of the Ministry of Finance. There are €4.4 million that go directly to improve basic services, security, infrastructures and social welfare”. In the words of the first local authority, “it is a responsible, balanced investment, designed for all the residents of Finestrat”.
Next, Nati Algado listed the infrastructures and services to which these economic resources are allocated:
• €600,000 to asphalting roads and public
roads• €400,000 to parks and gardens, especially in the area of urbanizations
• €200,000 to hydraulic infrastructures
• €90,000 to lighting in rural areas.
• €90,000 for traffic surveillance cameras.
• €700,000 for air conditioning in public schools.
“We are concerned about Education,” said the Mayor, Nati Algado. “For this reason, we allocated €700,000 to install air conditioning in the two public schools, Puig Campana and Balcó de Finestrat, in addition to €50,000 for the roof of an educational center that needs to be renovated. We are concerned about safety. For this reason, €90,000 is allocated to traffic surveillance systems. We always keep social action in mind. For this reason, to reduce the impact of the escalation of prices, we increase social aid, support for local associations and clubs and measures to boost the local economy,” explained the mayor, Nati Algado. Investments in sports are also key with the allocation of €350,000 that will go to the La Foia sports complex.
Finally, Nati Algado highlighted the value of economic management: “We managed to increase this economic allocation for the 2026 budget without raising taxes, this is key, and without resorting to debt. Also highlighting a very efficient management of the municipality’s economic resources, which has allowed us to have such healthy accounts. It is our way of giving back to the citizens what has been managed during all these years with great rigor.”
This budget modification that amounts to € 4,476,930.39 has been taken today to the plenary session where it has gone ahead with the votes in favor of the popular municipal group and against the socialist municipal group. Press Office (31/03/2026)
