Finestrat approves a budget modification for investments such as air conditioning in schools and sports facilities
31/03/2026Work is underway to renovate water pipes on Carrer Callosa d’En Sarrià de La Cala. The mayor, Nati Algado, the Councilor for Works and Projects, Guillermo Lloret, together with the Civil Works Engineer, Óscar Llorca and the head of Construction of Veolia, Pablo Alemany, were there.
“We have taken advantage of the low-voltage works that were underway this month on this same road, Carrer Callosa d’En Sarrià, to renew the water pipes. We had detected that, due to its age, leaks were occurring. So we have renewed the pipe for a new cast iron pipe, with a much longer useful life and, above all, more efficiency in preventing these leaks,” said the Mayor, Nati Algado.
There are about 200 meters of action in length to renew these pipes and prevent incidents in the water network, especially in the homes in the lower part of La Cala.
The investment amounts to about €50,000, paid for through the renovation fund of the concessionaire company of the drinking water service, Veolia (formerly Hidraqua). And the forecast is that they will end in April.
In this sense, it is worth remembering other actions in execution, also promoted by the City Council and Veolia, to maximize efficiency in the water network throughout the municipality through the sensorization of the water cycle. These 17 actions allow you to control water quality more effectively, monitor discharge points and automatically detect any incident. “Efficient water management is a priority. And we will continue working to guarantee its efficient use in Finestrat as much as possible,” concluded the Mayor. (PRESS OFFICE.30.3.2026)
