Schoolchildren from Finestrat participate in an environmental awareness day
17/04/2026
As every year, the City Council of Finestrat joins the 25N, “International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women“, to make visible and combat all forms of violence that affect women and girls with the commitment to take firm steps towards a future free of violence.
In the words of Nati Algado, Councilor for Equality, “25N is a key date that we cannot ignore. It is a time to stop, to reflect and think about our policies and the way in which, together, we must eradicate this serious problem with which society still lives today. From Finestrat we propose two proposals: a first watercolor workshop entitled “Colors that heal”, to delve into those women’s faces in which violence often leads from different forms to end up weaving with those red threads how stories are sometimes woven, how women are not alone, how we can support each other. I think it is a workshop that through creativity will allow us to work on many emotions.”

“We believe that it is key and this Department understands it and works on it. Preventing this violence against women from exists has to be done from different areas, from different sources and always from the earliest ages. For this reason, the Coeducation workshops are also underway in the schools of Finestrat, the workshops to reduce the digital divide between the elderly and also between women and men. So we encourage you to join us and, together, to claim this 25N”.
Coeducation for Equality sessions in schools
In parallel to 25N, every year and throughout the school year, the Department of Equality gives co-educational sessions on the prevention of gender violence in the two Infant and Primary schools, Puig Campana and Balcó de Finestrat.
These sessions began in October and will last until February 2026.
