The Patron Saint Festivities of Finestrat have experienced this afternoon one of their most emotional moments with the traditional Offering of Flowers, an act that has filled the streets of the municipality with color and feeling and that has brought together festeros and visitors to pay tribute to the Patron Saints.
The procession has departed from the Glorieta bound for the parish church of Sant Bertomeu, on a route accompanied by music and the festive atmosphere that these days is breathed in the streets of Finestrat. The flowers have been, once again, the protagonists of an act that represents the affection and devotion of an entire people towards their patrons. As a novelty, this year a large image of the 2 patron saints, Sant Bertomeu and the Santíssim Crist del Remei, presided over the arrival at the church and was colored with the bouquets of flowers from each festive hut.
After the religious act, the celebrations continue tonight with the Titanic Orchestra, starting at 00:00 hours in the Plaça de la Unió Europea.
Saturday arrives full of humor, youth and party
The program of Patron Saint Festivities dedicates Saturday 22 especially to humor and youth. Among the recreational proposals with the greatest reception among children and families, the Fiesta Train (from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) and the refreshing playground in the Plaça de la Unió Europea (from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.).
Between parades, music, tapas… 5:00 p.m. arrives and one of the most casual moments of the day with a new Surprise Party of the Commission in the Plaça de la Unió Europea.
And to close a day dedicated to joy and laughter, at 8:00 p.m. the Great Humor Parade starts from the Raval, one of those events that allows the Finestrat barracks to bring out their funniest and most creative side and fill their streets with costumes, imagination and good atmosphere.
The night will continue from 00:00 hours with the Macrodistoteca Tallarina On Tour, in the Plaça de la Unió Europea.
“La Barraca Recicla” and Punto Violeta
Once again, sustainability is a very present factor in these holidays with the campaign “La Peña Recicla” by ECOVIDRIO, rewarding the stall that recycles the most glass. The scale for weighing containers will be on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in La Fonteta. Font del Lleó.
Also for a safe and preventive Festivities against any act of gender violence you can find the Violet Point in the Plaça Unió Europea (Saturday 22 and Sunday 23, from 00:00 to 04:00h).
