27/08/2026To support and give visibility to Parkinson’s disease suffered by thousands of people in Spain. The Parkinson’s Association of the Mediterranean, APARME, provides specialized care to people affected by
Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, as well as their relatives and caregivers.
To support the important work carried out by this association and to promote the implementation of programs and activities in which people from the municipality of Finestrat with Parkinson’s and their families participate, the City Council of Finestrat and the Parkinson’s Association of the Mediterranean sign a collaboration agreement.
At the time of the signing that took place in the City Council of Finestrat, the mayor of Finestrat, Nati Algado, the councilor in charge of the area of Social Welfare and the Elderly, María Teresa Pérez Pérez and the President of APARME, Unai Guerrero and other collaborators of the association were present.
The economic contribution made by the consistory to this entity is €1,500. With the signing of this collaboration agreement, APARME undertakes to promote the implementation of programs and activities in which people with Parkinson’s, functional diversity and their families participate in Finestrat.
In the words of María Teresa Pérez, Councilor for Social Services, “with the signing of this agreement we establish collaborative ties to help APARME in its work to improve the quality of life of people diagnosed with Parkinson’s, their families and also their caregivers. At the same time, this neurodegenerative disease that affects more and more people is also given visibility.”
From the Department of Social Services of the City of Finestrat we consider favorable the collaboration between the City Council of Finestrat and the APARME Association, in order to favor the realization of programs and activities aimed at people with Parkinson’s and their families in the municipality of Finestrat. This collaboration will facilitate access to therapeutic programs, physiotherapy, speech therapy, cognitive stimulation, psychological accompaniment and family counseling, as well as make it possible to carry out information sessions and preventive workshops in the municipality. It is also proposed to establish referral mechanisms from the Social Services to the association, in accordance with technical criteria and with joint monitoring.
