Finestrat, First Destination in the Valencian Community to present its Tourism Offer from an Augmented Virtual Reality Space
18/05/2026The tourist office will offer immersive 3D experiences of Puig Campana and an interactive game on local heritage for children
The initiative, financed with NextGenerationEU funds, revitalises the office’s technological equipment to offer a more dynamic and educational visit
The Tourist Info of La Cala de Finestrat is preparing to offer a cutting-edge technological experience to its visitors. The City Council has launched the contract for the development of specific software and interactive content that will allow the maximum to take advantage of the virtual reality equipment and touch tables already installed in the office.
The project is divided into two major technological solutions. On the one hand, a Virtual Reality (VR) application will be developed that will allow users to make a “flight” over a 3D topographic map of Finestrat. Through VR glasses, tourists will be able to explore landmarks such as the top of Puig Campana, the corners of the Historic Center or the Cala itself, accessing points of interest with multimedia information and 360º content.
On the other hand, the office will reinforce its offer for families with the creation of a gamification application on its touch table. It is a “runner” type game – similar to the popular Finestrat Rush – where the youngest will virtually travel through the municipality overcoming obstacles and answering questions about history and local heritage, thus combining leisure and education.
This action has an investment of €18,137.90, of which 79% comes from the Next Generation EU funds through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
“With this investment we not only modernize equipment, but we also create content that values our natural and cultural wealth in an attractive way for all ages,” said the Councilor for Tourism, Donna R. Plummer. The aim is for technology to act as an immersive showcase that invites tourists to physically discover every corner of Finestrat.
