11/06/2026Every gesture counts… A small action can make a big difference. Next Monday, June 15, Finestrat will once again demonstrate its most supportive side with a new blood donation day, an opportunity to help those who need it most with a gesture that only takes a few minutes.
The event will take place on Monday, June 15, at the “Fernando Martínez” medical office (Carrer Serra Cortina, 5), a day organized to make it easier for neighbors to contribute to saving lives. “Because behind each donation there are people waiting for a transfusion after an operation, an accident or medical treatment,” said the Mayor and Councilor for Health, Nati Algado. “From the City Council of Finestrat we encourage the entire population that can donate to participate in this initiative. In hospitals, the need for blood is constant and reserves must be renewed every day. That’s why every donation counts and every donor is essential.”

In addition to helping others, donating blood is an act of generosity that strengthens the commitment of the entire community. A gesture that can become the best news for someone who is going through a difficult time.
On June 15, give life. Donate blood. Finestrat needs you to help those who need it most.
Any healthy person, of legal age and weighing more than 50 kilos, can donate blood.
Unlike a blood test, when we make a donation we should not go on an empty stomach, or immediately after a copious intake.
For the safety of both the donor and the recipient, a health and habit interview is conducted. After the donation, the blood is tested.
You can donate blood:
- If you are 18 years old and weigh more than 50 kilos.
- Even if you had hepatitis before the age of 12.
- Even if you have high cholesterol.
- Even if you take any of the most frequently consumed medications.
- You can donate up to 3 times every 12 months if you are a woman and up to 4 times if you are a man. Provided that the interval between donations is longer than 2 months.
To donate, remember to come well hydrated and bring your ID.
