11/09/2026The space will be open continuously from Monday to Sunday, incorporating new activities to promote study, creativity, reading and social interaction.
The Finestrat City Council, through the Department of Childhood and Youth, is launching a new weekly program at the Youth Centre with the aim of turning this space into a dynamic, participatory meeting point open to all young people, boys and girls in the municipality.
In addition to extending its opening hours from Monday to Sunday, without interruption, the Youth Centre will now offer themed activities every afternoon of the week, providing new alternatives for educational and healthy leisure:
The program includes:
Monday: Stories and reading sessions. The youth facilitator will read a story and afterwards, the participants will create drawings inspired by the story to work on reading comprehension, imagination and creativity.
Tuesdays and Thursdays: Time to do homework and reinforce study habits in a suitable environment.
Friday: Board game afternoons. It is an activity that was already being developed with great acceptance and that becomes part of the fixed weekly program to promote coexistence, teamwork and fun among young people.
The Councillor for Children and Youth, Sara Llorca , highlighted that this initiative responds to the desire to give more life to the Youth Centre and offer attractive proposals throughout the week.
“From now on, we want the afternoons at the Youth Center to be more lively and active, and for the space to always feel vibrant and bustling. We want our children, teenagers, and young adults to find a place here to study, learn, spend time with friends, and enjoy activities tailored to their interests,” the councilor stated.
He also added that “the Youth Center is much more than a building. It is a space for meeting, growing, and living together. That is why we continue working to ensure that more and more young people feel it belongs to them and use it in their daily lives.”
New extended hours
Along with this new program, from Monday, September 14, the Youth Centre is also extending its opening hours to make it easier for students and families to use.
With this change, the center will remain open continuously from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., eliminating the midday closure. It will also be open on weekends, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
“With this expansion, our users will have more time to study, work on projects, do homework, or participate in the activities we organize through the Department of Children and Youth. So, we encourage you to come to our Youth Center and take advantage of the new opportunities we offer in this municipal space. The Youth Center is your home. We want you to experience it, enjoy it, and make it your own every day.” the councilwoman concluded.
