Thursday 23: Attention to restrictive measures due to alert levels of storms, heat wave and risk of forest fires
23/07/2026“We have good news for the education of Finestrat,” said the Mayor, Nati Algado. “And it is that the two educational centers of our town, CEIP Puig Campana and CEIP Balcó de Finestrat, have already received the subsidy of the EduClima Plan of the Generalitat Valenciana for an amount of 15,000 euros. This amount will allow them to relieve high temperatures and provide thermal comfort to the classrooms. It is a fundamental measure that, in addition, adds to the commitment of the Finestrat government team by providing a budget item of 700,000 euros to act on the air conditioning of both schools”.
The endowments of the Generalitat Valenciana will allow financing provisional air conditioning measures, including the acquisition and installation of portable air conditioning equipment, as well as the auxiliary actions necessary to guarantee its safe and efficient operation.
The measure announced by the Council will be extended to 1,172 Infant and Primary Education schools (CEIP), Special Education centers (CEE) and Adult Training centers (FPA), while the remaining 444 are centers that teach Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training, Artistic Education of Music and Dance, Plastic Arts and Design Education, Sports Education and Official Language Schools (EOI). The total amount amounts to 16 million euros.
The Ministry of Education sends each educational center the instructions that regulate the use of this extraordinary funding. The document establishes the technical and administrative criteria for the acquisition and installation of the equipment, as well as the complementary actions necessary to guarantee the safety of the facilities and their compatibility with the electricity network of each centre.
Likewise, the instruction establishes that the actions must be executed, in general, before October 2026, extending the deadline until March 2027 in those cases that require adapting the electrical installation. Likewise, priority will be given to classrooms with the greatest thermal comfort problems, taking into account objective criteria such as their orientation, location within the building or absence of solar protection systems.
