The large stage truck of “Les Arts Volants” stops in Finestrat on Thursday, July 9

A town with a Valencian flavour governed by a council of analogue yayas. A secondary school. The square, where every mystery is solved and every discord ends in revelry. The music of José Serrano, the maestro of Sueca, articulates in the imagination of Enrique Viana, creator of this Disparate cómico-lírico, a friendly and current plot in a series of romances and ensemble numbers chosen from among the lesser known titles of the Valencian maestro, in a show that wants to make a sincere tribute to the theater of escape so popular in Spain before the Civil War.

It is the lyrical and comic spectacle ‘Notes of this summer, sarsueles en el camió’. And he arrives in Finestrat on the large stage truck of “LES ARTS VOLANTS”, the itinerant project of the Palau de Les Arts in Valencia that brings opera and zarzuela to the municipalities of the Community.

This large truck-stage of “Les Arts Volants” stops in Finestrat next Thursday, July 9, at 10:00 p.m., in the Plaça de la Unió Europea.

In the words of the Councilor for Culture, Héctor Baldó , “this is the 10th tour of the Palau de Les Arts project and brings us to the Plaça de la Unió Europea de Finestrat this spectacular montage, with a large truck that deploys its stage to turn our square into a large open-air theater. There we can enjoy this zarzuela created by Enrique Viana, with music by maestro Serrano and which pays tribute to popular theatre. A musical proposal that is combined with scenes from the daily life of a Valencian town, from the point of view of humour and irony, without the zarzuela losing an iota of its essence”.

Les Arts Volant is an itinerant project of the Palau de les Arts in Valencia that transforms public squares into stages. Through a prepared truck, it brings opera and zarzuela free of charge to the municipalities. The main objective of this cultural initiative is to break the traditional physical barriers of the theatre and bring the beauty of lyrical art to any corner of the Valencian Community, with special emphasis on public squares and outdoor spaces so that no one has to travel to enjoy first-class music.

With libretto and stage direction by Enrique Viana, and set design by Daniel Bianco, the play is presented as an agile comedy, with dialogues in Valencian, whose sole objective is to give an hour of pure emotion, entertainment and laughter to the spectator.

The score of the work is meticulously woven from the great and well-known compositions of the Valencian maestro José Serrano (creator of unforgettable pieces such as La canción del olvido or El trust de los tenorios), a repertoire that is revived with lyrics adapted to the present day. The show is in charge of the promising singers of the Centre de Perfeccionament de Les Arts, accompanied live on the piano by Cristian Arriaga and with a choreography designed by Cristina Arias.
