Sunday of Festivities with Fiesta Train, Refreshing Children’s Park, Kings of Reggaeton and CORREFOCS Night
27/08/2026Finestrat put the finishing touch last night to its patron saint festivities in honour of Sant Bertomeu and the Santíssim Crist del Remei after a few days marked by tradition, coexistence and emotion.
The municipality said goodbye to its festivities with one of its most solemn acts, the procession of Sant Bertomeu, which was attended by the President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, and the regional secretary of Innovation, Eduardo Pascual. Together with the mayor of Finestrat, Nati Algado, members of the municipal corporation, neighbors and visitors, the authorities wanted to accompany the municipality in one of the central moments of its patron saint festivities.
Previously, Finestrat dedicated a very special day to his elders. In the traditional “Dinar dels Majors” organized by the City Council with the support of the Comissió de Festes, the municipality wanted to publicly recognize those who have been and continue to be an essential part of the identity of Finestrat, highlighting everything they have contributed over the years and their fundamental role in the conservation of traditions. More than 200 seniors participated in this meal, held in the Sala Joven, where as tradition dictates, the oldest neighbor cuts the cake.
Elisa El Forn and Francisco Liriet were in charge of cutting the cake with which this emotional tribute was celebrated. A symbolic gesture that served to thank all the older generations for their legacy and their contribution to the history and customs of the municipality.
The closing day of the festivities continued with the solemn procession of Sant Bertomeu, in which devotion once again took the streets of Finestrat. After the procession, which was attended by the President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, and the regional secretary of Innovation, Eduardo Pascual, the ascent of the Santísimo Cristo del Remedio back to the Hermitage left one of the most emotional images of these festivities, highlighting the deep tradition and feeling with which Finestrat lives its patron saint celebrations.
The night concluded with a spectacular fireworks display by Pirotecnia Vulcano that lit up the sky of the municipality and put the finishing touch to some unforgettable days of partying, meeting and participation.
At the end of the firing of this castle, the Mayor, Nati Algado, wanted to thank the involvement of the La Xirimbela Commission, as well as the work and participation of all the people who have contributed to making these patron saint festivities possible.
